In 2013, FedEx expanded their Bonner Springs, Kansas distribution terminal by 177,000 square feet. The 10-acre site required over 250,000 tons of crushed stone, 100,000 cubic yards of clay fills, an underground storm system, fire loop, and forced main and gravity sewer.
Given the subprime land positioning with soft marshy soil conditions, pre-construction remediation was required to ensure functionality and long-term viability of the area. AOG provided full-cycle geotechnical drilling, engineering, and field support, including Nuclear Densometer and proof-roll compaction testing of sub-grade and paving materials.
