Can you translate your extensive Special Inspections technical expertise into guidance on field procedures and data interpretation? AOG is looking for a Field Services Director to lead and develop our FieldOne services department into a best-in-class operation.

Your new role:

You will thrive on directing the efficient management of our resources and strengthening relationships inside and outside of AOG to ensure the successful execution of geotechnical services. Your goal every day will be to raise the standard of our performance, and you’ll achieve it by continuously improving coordination and quality controls. You’ll embrace technology with enthusiasm and look for ways to use it to enhance the way we work. You won’t worry about a life of travel. You’ll eagerly quarterback our field efforts from our offices in Kansas City, Kansas with an occasional presence in the field. Some of your work may be done remotely if it makes sense. You’ll report directly to our President, Allan Bush.

A day in the life of an AOG Field Services Director includes:

• Collaborating with our Field Services Administrator to ensure efficient scheduling, accurate and timely billing, discrepancy management, and budget control
• Supervising Field Administrator and Field Technician employees
• Investing time with Field Technicians for professional development and counsel
• Conducting performance reviews and huddle meetings
• Maintaining vehicle record system
• Promoting incident and injury free workplace

• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician • ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector • ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector • ICC Soils • State DOT      Certifications • NICET Certifications • Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT preferred

Are you an Engineering veteran with extensive Geotechnical experience? You’ll thrive on getting your hands dirty in the field to do whatever it takes to give clients the comprehensive Geotechnical solutions they expect from us. You’ll play a key role in training and guiding the performance of Field Technicians and Engineering staff, and you’ll work closely with our Field Services Director to advance our FieldOne processes, operations, and estimating. You’ll also drive relationships with project partners and find opportunities to create new relationships. You won’t worry about packing a bag and hitting the road because you’ll only work on project sites in the Greater Kansas City area. An occasional office presence will be expected. Some of your work may be done remotely if it makes sense. You’ll report directly to our Field Services Director.

• Providing Engineering support and recommendations for soil, foundation, and Special Inspections
• Collaborating with our Field Services Director to ensure the right people and resources are in place to successfully execute Geotechnical services
• Investing time with Field Technicians for professional development and counsel

ACI • ICC • NICET • AWS • Masonry • Floor Flatness • Fire Proofing/Stopping certifications (preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Geology
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or EIT

Inspect your new role:

As a Senior Field Technician, you will perform field and environmental investigations for construction projects in and around the Kansas City area in an elevated role:

• Perform testing and observations on commercial construction projects
• Prepare daily reports on observation activities
• Review observation and test data for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff as needed
• Work with project engineers and clients to ensure that client specifications are followed
