Recognizing Design-Build Excellence in Kansas City
The 2025 DBIA-Mid America Region Awards brought together teams from across the region at The Gallery in Kansas City’s Power & Light District. It’s always encouraging to see strong project delivery recognized, especially when it involves partners we’ve worked closely with.
Two award-winning projects stood out for us:
Children’s Mercy + Camber Mental Health Wellness Campus (Olathe, KS)
Congratulations to JE Dunn Construction and Hoefer Welker on the win! Alpha-Omega Geotech provided geotechnical engineering and special inspections for this impactful community healthcare project.

8180 Cole Parkway Warehouse (Lenexa, KS)
Congratulations to JDG Construction and Davidson Architecture + Engineering on this design-build win that turned the site of a devastating fire into an opportunity for a new and much improved structure. Our team supported geotechnical groundwork and inspections throughout the project.

JDG Construction and Davidson Architecture + Engineering accepted the small commercial project award.

Thanks to the Project Advocates team for joining us at our luncheon table.
Why Design-Build Matters to Us
Design-build is more than a delivery method. It’s a mindset built around collaboration, shared risk, and earlier alignment between teams. Instead of handing off responsibilities in phases, design-build encourages engineers, architects, and contractors to solve problems together from the start.
For Alpha-Omega Geotech, that means:
- Earlier involvement when site decisions matter most
- Fewer delays from unknown ground conditions
- Clearer communication across the team
- Smoother schedules and more predictable outcomes
That’s why we actively support DBIA-MAR and continue to prioritize design-build partnerships across the region. Learn more about our interest in alternative delivery methods.>>
