FedEx Distribution Terminal Expansion, Bonner Springs, Kansas

In 2013, FedEx expanded its Bonner Springs, Kansas distribution terminal by 177,000 square feet. The 10-acre site required over 250,000 tons of crushed stone, 100,000 cubic yards of clay fills, an underground storm system, a fire loop, and a forced main and gravity sewer.

Given the subprime land positioning with soft marshy soil conditions, pre-construction remediation was required to ensure the functionality and long-term viability of the area. AOG provided full-cycle geotechnical drilling, engineering, and field support, including Nuclear Densometer and proof-roll compaction testing of sub-grade and paving materials.
