Gardner-Edgerton High School

In 2016, voters approved a $29.7 million bond to expand and upgrade the Gardner-Edgerton High School. The expansion added a new 32,075 square foot wing with 18 classrooms, a new 29,579 square foot Advanced Technical Center, and a new 1,600 square foot TRAILS building for adult students ages 18-21 with disabilities.

The automotive/transportation programs are now located in the new Advanced Technical Center, as well as design for manufacturing, design for pre-construction, construction, drafting, CAD, and welding.

A new culinary center, also in the Technical Center, is equipped with a top-of-the-line commercial/industrial kitchen, a bistro-type restaurant for service training and future culinary projects, and a separate hands-on working classroom. The culinary program has a separate entrance for evening school-sponsored activities and events.

The 1,600 square foot TRAILS (Transition Readiness and Independent Living Skills) facility is a stand-alone building created specifically for young adults with disabilities. TRAILS is a community-based program designed to assist young adults in transition from school to adult life and provides real-life experiences and skills training to make the transition more manageable.

The existing commons area, kitchen/cafeteria, band room, vocal music room, and orchestra rooms were also expanded and renovated to meet the growing population of high school students in the Gardner-Edgerton area. It is the only high school in the Gardner-Edgerton School District.
